we are all aware here that the wt/jw org is trying its hardest to wriggle out of paying rightful compensation in the form of damages to victims of abuse who bring a claim.. they must be worried about future claims too, not just from decades ago, but from the present, as they have not made any effort as yet to truly protect the vulnerable.. here is my question :.
as they now direct the congregations through the organization known as "the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses" and as in each country this organization is headed and run by a few mendicants with no assets, do you think in future the big jw/wt corporations will deny all responsibility for abuse, by saying the very poor "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses", which owns no property/real estate and has no cash or other assets, is alone responsible ????
hence no pay out ?.
Being the terrible truth that there will be predators in any group of people, it is best moving forward if parents take more responsibility for the well being of their children.

sorry for the long post but i need help.
ive been a jw for 20 years - still active and attending meetings, baptised at 18, i have recently become very dissillusioned.
a few reasons: ill treatment of my kids by a prominent 'assembly speaker' elder, then my son left the truth at 15 (not baptised) and was 'dropped' instantly, despite this community having been his whole life for 15 years.

my after meeting ritual, is getting my suit off, and a beer in my hand....in less than 2 minutes from entering my door.
It feels so nice once we make it home, in a much more relaxed atmosphere. Many a times we go out to eat or for drinks afterwards. Once home, I can even see on my hubby's face as if the weight of the world has been lifted.

By the way, just speaking from what I noticed in the Spanish congs I attend.
The shunning crap goes in one ear and right out the other in the Hispanic JW circles; and so it should across the board. It is a horrible practice.

We Hispanics are very social in nature and very family-oriented. No way a mother is not helping or talking to her kid. No freaking way!

my family member says he only attends two meetings per week.
and only goes out on field service whenever he wants to.
are some halls less strict than others?
The keeping records of preaching hours makes every single JW a liar.
Here is how I count my time: The minute I step out of my house en route to 'service' to the very minute I step foot back in my home returning from 'service'. It amounts to a very nice 'above average' hour count each month. Has to be done this way to keep hubby and others off my back.

i have noticed that younger guy appearing more and more on jw tv and in special talks.
can't remember his name but he is middle aged, greying, but has a business exec look about him.. is this guy the next gen of gb members?
or is he just an aide to help them about etc?
It is only fair that the current GB gets the boot based on their age, just like the gave the boot to the DOs.
It is a good business model, though.

joined the site, not that i have much to share.. i'm married to a jw (wife).
i never have been or will be a jw, i honestly hate the wt (not the jws).
being married to a jw, can sometimes make you crazy, i never believed any of the bs.
If she has always been a JW and she violated the big no-no of marrying a non-JW, you have nothing to worry about. Yes, in her heart of hearts, she is only going through the motions and is not a true JW in essence.
